Palo Pinto Jail Release Paths
Palo Pinto County Jail holds people awaiting court action and people serving eligible local sentences. A person may return to the community after a bond is accepted, a court-authorized release, dismissal, time served, or sentence completion. The same facility departure can instead be a transfer to TDCJ after a felony judgment, another county on a warrant, USMS custody, or ICE custody. Transfer means custody moved. It does not mean the person became free.
The jail’s booking-out entry should state the recorded date, time, and type of departure to the extent maintained and public. A release or transfer order may identify the authority and destination. The court file can establish why custody should end, but a judge’s order time is not always the minute jail processing ends. Use both records when exact confirmation matters.
Confirm Palo Pinto Jail Departure
Start with the official Palo Pinto custody interface. It has Current Inmates, 24 Hours Arrests, and Inmates by Arrest Date. The second tab lists arrests, not releases. Save the arrest date, charge, bond, and case identifiers from a matching card. A current listing means the released-person question is premature. An absent name calls for more checks rather than a release claim.
- Search Current Inmates and match identity beyond the name.
- Use the arrest tabs only to recover booking context and case identifiers.
- Check the correct county or district court case for a signed bond, dismissal, judgment, or transfer order.
- Search TDCJ when a felony commitment or state transfer is plausible.
- Request the sheriff booking-out sheet and release or transfer order.
- Confirm the receiving agency when the record shows transfer.
The Palo Pinto County released inmate search supplies the full county, court, state, and federal verification sequence. Match a common name with date of birth or age, booking date, charge, cause number, booking number, SID, or TDCJ number as applicable. A shared identifier is much stronger than a similar spelling.
Palo Pinto Jail Records Request
Use the official sheriff information-request form. Select “Other” for the release record and “Mugshot” when a booking photo is also needed. The form asks for requester contact information, involved address or location, the involved person’s name, and incident date. Include a case or service number when known.
Please provide the booking-in/out sheet and release or transfer order for [full name], booked on or about [date/case number]. Please include the recorded release or transfer date and time, release type or authority, receiving agency or destination if transferred, and booking photograph. Electronic copies are preferred, and lawful redaction is acceptable.
Ask for existing documents rather than asking the sheriff to explain why someone was released. The form publishes no local fee or turnaround. Texas Public Information Act requests must be handled promptly under Government Code Chapter 552, but the ten-business-day ruling process is not a promise that every record will arrive within ten days. Confidential details may be redacted.
Palo Pinto Jail Contact
The Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Office operates the jail, also identified as the Palo Pinto County Law Enforcement Center. The physical address is 420 Cedar Street, Palo Pinto, TX 76484. The correspondence address shown by the sheriff is P.O. Box 506, Palo Pinto, TX 76484. An official county document lists 940-659-2085. Verify that number through the current sheriff page before relying on it.

Sheriff records form
No records-office hours or local records fee are published on the form. Do not infer them from another county department. Questions about current jail operations should go to the sheriff. Historical proof should be requested in writing so the booking, date range, and sought record series are clear.
Palo Pinto Jail Identity
The official sheriff material identifies the facility and its Cedar Street location. It does not publish a verified release gate, daily release time, weekend practice, family waiting area, transport arrangement, or post-release property procedure. Those details should not be inferred from pages about mail, correspondence, commissary, visitation, or surety agents.
The official jail page shows the facility name and address.

The sheriff publishes surety forms with a warning that they are for surety or agent use, not public use. Likewise, a bond amount on a current inmate card states a condition but does not prove payment, approval, or completed departure. Confirm the bond order and booking-out entry.
Palo Pinto Jail Record Fields
A focused request gives the records officer a clear booking to locate. Ask for the person’s full name and identifiers, booking or arrest number, booking date and time, arresting agency, charges, recorded release date and time, release type, bond or surety information when applicable, releasing order or authority, and destination when transferred. Request the photograph separately through the form’s Mugshot choice.
| Record source | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Booking-out sheet | When the person left that county booking |
| Release or transfer order | Authority, type, and possible receiving agency |
| Court order or judgment | Bond, dismissal, sentence, jail credit, or other legal basis |
| TDCJ result | State transfer, current state custody, or later state dates |
| IVSS alert | A prospective notice that still needs record confirmation |
A docket is a schedule or index and may not state the signed ruling. County-level matters follow County Clerk resources, while felony and district matters follow the District Clerk and DA index. Locate the cause number, then obtain the signed document.
Palo Pinto Transfer Checks
When a felony sentence has been pronounced, read the district judgment and any transfer order, then search TDCJ by SID or TDCJ number. A short delay may occur before reception posts. A future TDCJ Projected Release Date concerns release from state custody, not the earlier day the person left Palo Pinto County Jail.
USMS may keep a federal defendant in a contract jail without a public locator. Use the federal detention or release order and district verification. BOP generally becomes relevant after federal commitment, not during every federal pretrial hold. ICE has its own detainee locator. A departure on an ICE detainer is a county transfer, followed later by a separate immigration release if one occurs.
Palo Pinto Release Record Retention
Texas retention schedules explain why a formal request remains useful after the live roster changes. The jail-register series is permanent and includes the release or transfer date. Booking-in and booking-out sheets, commitment records, and release or transfer orders have a minimum retention of two years after release or transfer. Property return receipts and good-time or conduct records also carry identified minimum periods.
Retention does not guarantee unrestricted public access. Law-enforcement exceptions, privacy, juvenile confidentiality, expunction, nondisclosure, and other rules can limit disclosure. Narrow requests accept lawful redaction and reduce the chance of sweeping in unrelated protected material. If the sheriff reports no responsive document, check the spelling, date, booking number, and custodian before treating that response as meaningful.
Palo Pinto Jail Release Meaning
Use the exact recorded status. Bond release, personal-recognizance release, dismissal, time served, sentence completion, and transfer are different events. Hospitalization, escape, death, a data correction, or an outage can also affect an active list without a lawful community release. Do not write “released” because a search stops returning a name.
A release does not erase the underlying court case. A dismissal may occur before or after the person has already bonded out. A sentence may be credited as time served while another lawful hold continues custody. If a later warrant produces a new booking, describe the sequence as release followed by return to custody, with a record and date for each event.
